Newly wedded couple will get a chance of owning a new and affordable home as The Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan will expand the 'Transit House' Programme with an implementation schedule in next year.
In disclosing this, he also said that "The program is a pro-active approach by the government to help the new young married couple, aged under 30 years and monthly income below RM3,000 in an effort to reduce their burden".
He also further stated that besides Kota Kinabalu, the Public Housing Project (PPR) in Kinarut and Inanam had been identified as suitable locations for the programme’s pioneer project.
In which i think is a good decision as besides from couples living in the city, this also enables people besides 'couple' or individuals, who prefer living outside of the urban areas to have choices. Although I also suggest that the project to be expand into other areas to allow more location choices. Especially for the young married couples as there are many who are facing budget constraints, particularly the ones who only earn a meagre amount of income.
The Minister, also stated that the monthly rental for the transit house is RM124, the same rate as that charged for the PPR houses. The rental charge (RM124) is totally a life saver as compared to the usual rent rate (RM400-RM1200).
It is also hoped that this project will expand and povide a decent home for newly wedded couples and low income individuals alike.
