Kota Kinabalu: TNT Express Worldwide - one of the world's largest express delivery companies, serving over 200 countries is opening a new depot at Jalan Lintas Kepayan and on Feb 1, their outbound and pick up deliveries will start.
Business entities here will be able to access the world through us, said Chong Siang Chung, TNT Express Managing Director, at TNT's Media Appreciation event which took place at Le Meridien, here, Tuesday.
"We're focusing on international delivery here."
According to him, among reasons for them to choose Sabah is because Sabah's GDP is growing better than any other state in Malaysia.
"We wanted to serve customers better with the opening of our Kuching branch and KK was definitely in our plan."
He added that they intend to have a better presence in East Malaysia.
Apart from that, the high demand from customers, among them high tech companies, oil and gas players and pharmaceuticals also requested for them to make a presence here. "Of course when there is demand, the supply will be there."
With 2653 depots worldwide, TNT Express' interconnected international air and road networks in Europe, China, South America, the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East provides business and consumers worldwide with an extensive range of services for their mail and express delivery needs on a time-certain or day-definite basis.
TNT has the largest air network and most coverage of any Express equivalent product in the European market. TNT also has the largest road network and most coverage of any Express equivalent product in the European market.

Being a pioneer in the concept of Integrated road network in Asia eight years ago, TNT currently spans Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and China. The Asia Road Network service is 30 per cent cheaper than air transportation and three times faster than sea transportation.
It is targeted at domestic and international customers who require the delivery of high value goods within a specific - and often short- time span.
