INANAM: Prices at the Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) are at least 40 to 50 per cent lower than that of regular shops so that all Malaysians can afford to shop there, said Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun.
"It is a very good effort by the BN government to help the people.
The prices are 40-50 per cent cheaper than other places.
"As long as you have the 1 Malaysia logo it is cheaper so ordinary
people can come and buy things which they would normally say is
expensive but here they can buy it. So food items that previously only
those with money can afford to buy can now also be enjoyed by ordinary
people," she said.
Azizah said this after paying a visit to the Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) Inanam at Mile 15, Jalan Tuaran on Monday.
"We also encourage local people to produce and market their products
which can be taken up (by KR1M) if the price is competitive and the
quality is good.
"One thing about the KR1M is not only the price is competitive but the quality is also good.
The response from the people is very good and encouraging and I think this is a very successful venture by the government."
Azizah also said currently there are two outlets in the State, one in
Tuaran and one in Inanam but by next year there will be KR1M outlets in
all parliamentary areas in the State.
"This means that people all over Sabah can have access to the 1Malaysia products," she said.
