KOTA KINABALU: Sabah plays a very important role in the KFC, Pizza Hut and Pizza Hut Delivery (PHD) businesses activities as in the first eight months of this year, KFC Sabah’s revenue rose 19.5 per cent to RM118 million compared to last year.
Pizza Hut Sabah’s revenue rose 14.5 per cent to RM22.7 million, disclosed QSR Brands Bhd & KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd chairman Dato’ Ayub Mion at the KFC and Pizza Hut Sabah 28th anniversary dinner at a resort on Wednesday.
Starting with just one restaurant in 1984, now Sabah has 48 KFC stores, 17 Pizza Hut restaurants and one PHD store, he said.
“We expect to open the first KFC Drive Thru in Sabah by end of October this year as well as another outlet in Kundasang before year end. Another outlet will also begin its operations early next year in Keningau,” Ayub revealed.
PHD is also rapidly expanding and are expected to open four new outlets in Sepangar, Putatan, Tuaran and Kingfisher in the coming months, he added.
“We now employ close to 2,000 people in Sabah. Our expansion will open more opportunities for career development and advancement as well as create new jobs for newcomers.
“We recognise that our people are our biggest asset. We want to hire, train, develop and retain employees of the highest calibre. So grab every opportunity that comes your way to further your careers and prospects,” he called.
As a responsible and caring corporate citizen, Ayub said KFC also place great emphasis on supporting numerous local projects and programmes dedicated to improving the quality of life and the vitality of the communities living around them.
