Government seeks public views and opinions on Budget 2014

Sunday, June 2, 2013

The Government is inviting the public to give their views and suggestions for the national Budget next year. They can do this by forwarding their suggestions to the Finance Ministry via e-mails, memorandum or letters.

Anybody can just send a letter to the ministry with their views, don't worry if the views are right or wrong, you just give it to them and they will get the team to go through and evaluate it all.

They will be a special team by the finance ministry to evaluate all the sent suggestions by the public. This shows that the government is concern and took note of the people's opinion on government administration as well as to where the money should be put into.

The Budget was due to be tabled in October. This will also be the budget for the "Rakyat" as second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah call it. Ahmad Husni said ministry officials and related agencies had started discussing the Budget, and will include the pledges in the AkuJanji, which includes increasing the amount of the BR1M aid.

He said the ministry will also hold joint discussions with its agencies besides getting feedback from focus groups comprising professional bodies, non-governmental organisations, academics and business people as soon as the Budget consultation sessions begin.
