10 best things about Sabah's State Government

Here are some of the 10 best things the Sabah state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has done for the people of Sabah, as mentioned by The Federation of Sabah Manufacturers' (FSM) President, Datuk Wong Khien Thau in his welcoming speech in conjunction with the presentation of Letters of Approval for the Kolombong land lease extension and renewal (Click HERE to find out more on the event)



  1. Sabah has been among the top state that has achieved sound financial management and was given a clean bill by the Auditor-General at least for the last five years consecutively.
  2. Moody International has certified the Sabah state government for efficient and proper budget management for three years running and the Rating Agency of Malaysia (RAM) has given the state government a triple-A rating for its finances.
  3. Sabah is cash rich and has reserves of more than RM3 billion. The highest in Sabah's history up to date. 
  4. The 2013 state budget which is more than RM4 billion was the highest in the state budget's history.
  5. Sabah Finance Ministry emerged as the only one to achieve five-star ranking among the state ministries in the Star Rating System (SSR).
  6. Sabah has a total investment of about RM13 billion in 2011 although it is ranked after Sarawak and Penang. This is the highest the state has ever achieved," he said.
  7. The overall crime rate in Sabah has been reduced last year while the poverty rate has dwindled from 19.7 per cent in 2009 to 8.1 per cent in 2012, the highest poverty reduction registered in the country.
  8. Wong said the state government has also received the biggest funding from the federal government due to good relationship, paving the way for more development for the state.
  9. Musa's administration has also played a pivotal role to convince the federal government for the setting up of the Royal Commission of Inquiry on illegal immigrants (RCI) in Sabah.
  10. It's not a big secret that the state government's commitment in supporting efforts to reduce the cost of living and cost of doing business in Sabah, including the issue of sabotage.The manufacturing sector made another milestone with the presentation of Letters of Extension of Leases for the Kolombong Industrial Estate.
