With the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities cum Penampang member of parliament Tan Sri Bernard Dompok and the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak behind their back, the will bid to host the 2015 JCI Asia-Pacific Conference by the Junior Chamber International Malaysia is in full swing.
Citing from his experience as past president of the Penampang JCI, Dompok acknowledge the fact that the event will provide an opportunity for everyone involved. Should the bidding for the event came to reality, it wil atract 6,000 people to attend the event and it would be the fifth time Malaysia would play host to the conference.
JCI Malaysia president Kim Tan Jiin Oei mentioned the results of the bid would be known by June and that the national bidding team had done a series of activities to promote the state. Last year, during the Asia Pacific Conference in Hong Kong and Word Conference in Taiwan, JCI Malaysia held an exhibition and performed a series of cultural dances and songs to promote the country and Sabah in particular. Kim too added that they would carry out a similar blitz at this year's conference to be held in Korea.

It is an international community of citizens between the ages of 18 to 40 with the aim and purpose of creating positive changes in the world. The organization believes that these changes must result from one taking "collective action to improve themselves and the world around them." While containing a religious element in their official creed, JCI neither promotes nor engages in any religious activities. (Source is cited from HERE)
