This follows its successful presence in Malaysia.

"We have decided to open our first outlet in Jakarta due to the large Muslim population in the city," said its Advertising and Operation Manager, Winson Keh.

He said the company is currently seeking a potential partner in Indonesia.

Coolblog Dessert has more than 250 outlets in Malaysia and aims for 400 by 2014.

Winson said the locations chosen by the licensee would be reviewed for at least a week, with areas near banks, supermarkets and colleges also to be considered," he added.

A potential Coolblog licensee needs a start-up capital of about RM120,000 covering the kiosk rental, management, trained workers, equipment, ingredients, licence and training.

Last year, the company producing the "Coolblog" beverage opened 250 outlets, and will have 300 by year-end.

"We have a presence in almost all the main towns, so we are now moving into smaller towns like Wakaf Che Yeh, in Kelantan," he told Bernama

He said Coolblog would not be limited to just shopping centres.

The company has two warehouses in Johor Baharu employing about 250 workers, in addition to those manning the kiosks.

"We are confident of the Coolblog brand as it is certified halal. We send product samples for testing every three months on the safety of ingredients. The pricing at RM1.80 a cup, is reasonable.

"We can sell between 300 to 350 cups daily at the Coolblog outlets," Winson said.

Launched 2005 in Singapore, Coolblog is an international franchise specialising in desserts and beverages, tasting of tea.

Coolblog won the "Best Booth" award at the 2012 Halal Festival and the Golden Bull Award 2012, for being one of the "100 Outstanding Small and medium enterprises."
