KOTA KINABALU: Star Cruises, the leading cruise line operator in the Asia-Pacific, will sponsor travel quality products as monthly grand prizes for the East Malaysia IPRO Buy and Win Contest from 16 May to December 2013.

The Vice President of Star Cruises, Edward Johann Leong said that Star Cruises is glad to sponsor the grand prizes with a total worth of up toRM55,000.

The prizes are four units of 3-nights Star Cruises Virgo for two (Singapore-Penang-Phuket-Singapore), two units of 3-nights Star Cruises Libra for two (Penang-Phuket- Krabi-Penang) and three units of 2-nights Star Cruises Virgo for two (Singapore-Redang-Singapore).

“Star Cruises Genting Hong Kong has always been supportive of companies such as CX mobile who actually venture into technology products, apart from the fact that we are also very supportive for education, charity and anything to do with local society,” said Edward.

He was speaking to the media at a press conference on Star Cruises sponsorship of monthly grand prizes to East Malaysia IPRO Distributor, CX Mobile at The Bridge, Star Cruises lounge here, yesterday.

He said, the prizes consist of cruises in the Virgo which is the largest cruise liner in operation followed by the third largest which is Libra.

Furthermore, Edward said that it is a good synergy to promote Malaysian products as well as to complement each other with both Star Cruises and IPRO are both Malaysia-owned and -based.

Additionally, Edward also said that travelling by cruise ship is a new thing for Sabahans where a lot would perceive this activity as only for the rich and famous.

“It is a misconception when one thinks that they need to have at leastRM10,000 to RM15,000 to be able to go for a cruise because travelling on a cruise is an all-in-one package; you have your shopping, food, entertainment and accommodation on board,” he said.

When talking about the response of the people to Star Cruises, he said they have exceeded more that 75 per cent from the expected response.

Meanwhile, the Director of CX Mobile, Ronnie Liew, said that the contest period will start on 16 of May to December, and any customers who spends above RM300 at any of the distributor’s retail outlets is entitled to get the chance for the draw.

He said IPRO has two centres which are in 1Borneo Hypermall and Megalong Shopping mall, and deal with more than 20 retail outlets in East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak) namely Pink Com, Fix Com, Teck Lim Mobile, Leslie Mobile, Linkway Mobile and Slytrk Marketing Sdn Bhd.

IPRO is a Malaysian brand name of unique and high quality of mobile products at highly competitive prices. It is also the winner of the Asia Pacific Top Excellence Brand for Year 2012.
