SANDAKAN: The problem relating to the diesel supply quota here has received the attention of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who wants it to be resolved immediately.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Sandakan parliamentary seat, Datuk Liew Vui Keong said he had contacted the minister concerned following public complaints about the matter.

“Ismail Sabri has given the assurance that the existing quota imposed on consumers will be removed immediately,” Liew said during a meet-the-people session at Bandar Kim Fung here yesterday.

“This means that all consumers, especially business operators and motorists can purchase any amount of diesel at any petrol kiosk in Sandakan,” he told reporters later.

Meanwhile, Liew warned that stern action would be taken against anyone especially petrol kiosk operators for committing any irresponsible or fraudulent acts.

He urged the people to contact him if the diesel supply quota problem persisted and he assured that he would find a solution quickly.
