With more than 200 affiliate members and 3,000 entrepreneur contacts, The Sabah West Coast Entrepreneur Network Association (SEA) has entered their baptism of fire in efforts in engaging youths in the field of entrepreneurship since its inception Six months ago.
Darwin Tan, the founding father made the distinction that SEA stands out from other chambers of commerce which typically ethnic or religiously oriented; SEA concentrate its efforts in developing young entrepreneurs.
All are welcome to engage one another in participation of the training being provided and share resources; regardless of their their ethnicity or creed.
A more recent initiative taken by SEA is the Sabah Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development Link (SeedLink) which was recently launched at the SeedNite Mocktail. It serves as a networking platform for entrepreneurship stakeholders to link up all members and available resources.
SeedNite Mocktail was attended by more than than 100 entrepreneurs, social leaders and other interested parties. The event officiated by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai. In his brief speech, Dr Yee, who is also the Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, praised the efforts and initiatives taken by SEA and was impressed by the fact that almost all who came to the event were young people.
Datuk Dr Yee extend an invitation to all entrepreneurs to make full use of the facilities provided by the Government for their own benefit such as the usage of Wisma Bandaraya building from the sixth floor up.
Datuk Dr Yee also informed them that the Government have lined up various programmes and training in order to help their business as well as to expand their thinking and philosophy.
SEED Project Director, Alvis Loo, said the project welcomes participation and sponsors from any individual, SME company and MNC in the country.
