Continue political stability, economic prosperity: Musa

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman urged the people in Sabah to continue working with the Government to ensure political stability, social and economic prosperity for mutual benefit.

"What is important is your support and cooperation will contribute toward the success of all the policies and programmes that we are currently implementing throughout the State for us and our future generation," he said.
Speaking at the opening of the Gaya Christmas Celebration 2012 at Lintasan Deasoka here Monday, Musa said Sabah was fortunate as the people from various religions and races could live in peace and harmony together.
"This has allowed us to celebrate every celebration with full of respect and tolerance. It is also one of the factors that made our State as the best model in the country where the people of multi-racial background and religion could live in peace and respect each other," he said in his speech delivered by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai.
In line with the celebration theme of "Pledge" this year, Musa called on the people to pledge to preserve and protect the peace and harmony that "we have been enjoying all this while."
"The fact is the peace and harmony that we are enjoying today is because we have a stable and sustainable government. We realise that if we do not have a crisp government we will never be able to enjoy social stability and progress," he said.
Nonetheless, he said achieving this was not an easy feat since it needed the cooperation and support from all leaders and the people.
He commended the organisers of the Gaya Christmas Celebration 2012 headed by Sabah Council of Churches President Bishop Datuk Albert Vun for successfully organising the event.
