SANDAKAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman lashed out at Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Azmin Ali for claiming Sabah as the poorest state in the country.
“If
we are the poorest state, then we should have plenty of beggars and
people dying from starvation. Never have I heard of such a thing.” said
Musa, adding that, diabetes and high blood pressure were on the rise
instead.
“Don’t come to Sabah and talk like you know us so well. As Sabahans, we know our state better than you.”
“We’ve (Sabah) come a long way in terms of improvement yet Selangor is now deteriorating. They don’t even have water,” he said.
Musa
also said the state government had been working hard in improving the
socio-economic status of Sabahans, saying “Being a (state or district)
representative is not a privilege. It is a responsibility.”
“I
understand that we are still lacking in some aspects, but what’s
important is that we are aware of this and we are taking steps to
resolve every issue,” he said.
Musa added that Sabahans are still backing Barisan Nasional (BN) and that hard work will ensure success.
