Sabah has grown as a progressive, prosperous, peaceful and stable state under approaches taken by the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
He said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is not only responsible and capable in carrying out its duties but also pays attention towards the interest of the people and the nation.
"This allowed Sabah to be on track in becoming a sustainably developed state," he said in his remarks at the installation of office bearers of the Sabah Federation of Chinese Association, here last night.
Musa said the state' s economic development has remained resilient and "as most of you know we now have a strong reserve.
"This is testimony of our commitment to promote human capital growth together with economic and infrastructure development for the benefit of the people.
Touching on the ecomomic climate in Sabah, Musa said there were a number of federal-led initiatives, including the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) that would propel Malaysia into a high income nation by 2020.
"The ETP is in tandem with what we have set out in the Sabah Development Corridor (SDC). We expect more business opportunities and jobs to be created through these ongoing initiatives," he said.
Musa said the state government would also continue to support the needs of Chinese schools, including funding.
"For this to happen, there must be political stability and support from all communities so that we can administer the state without being distracted by too much politicking.
"Political stability is an important factor for attracting investments and allowing businesses to flourish," he said.
Later, he announced a funding of RM100,000 for the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah.
