BEAUFORT : Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has pledged to continue to develop Beaufort so that it would be on par with other districts in the state.
He said Beaufort, which was still a Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold,
should not be neglected so that the people would continue to enjoy the
benefits of development.
The state government, with the assistance of Beaufort Umno Youth, would ensure Beaufort and the surrounding areas, such as Klias and Kuala Penyu, Sipitang and Sindumin are not left out in development, he said when launching the Beaufort 3 "Belia Gegar" carnival and NR Fan Club organised by Beaufort Umno Youth here today.
Musa, who is Sabah Umno chairman, said the people of Sabah should not
sacrifice their future for the sake of certain leaders with vested
interests.
He believed the Sabah people were wise enough and would not be easily influenced by the opposition leaders.
Musa said the youths, who would be the deciding factor in the coming
general election, should choose wisely to ensure continuity in the
state's development and the people's well-being.
Meanwhile, Beaufort Umno Youth chief and organising chairman, Mohd
Ishak Ibrahim, said the carnival was held as a manifestation of the
government's recognition for youths' contributions in the country's
development.
