Kota Kinabalu: Syarikat Kapasi Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Asian Pac Holdings Berhad, on Saturday launched 'The Loft C' private residences which is part of its KK Times Square project.

"The Loft C is part of the second phase of our huge KK Times Square project, which includes the Imago Mega Mall which I think is going to be the shopping centre in the whole island of Borneo," said Asian Pac Holding Berhad Chairman Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas.

He said this during a media conference after the official launching ceremony of Loft C held at Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa, here.

"At the moment, we have a huge take-up of our project and the Lofts A, B, D and E, all have done very well, so Loft C is the last of the lofts, which faces the sea directly which we hope will also get a very good response," he said, adding that thus far, they have received many inquiries from people who have expressed their interest.

He said they are very bullish about Kota Kinabalu and Sabah as well, adding that Kota Kinabalu has all the potential to be a jewel in Southeast Asia.

"You have everything going for you, you've got a beautiful scenery, beautiful islands, mountains, rivers, beaches, fantastic resorts and national parks as well as orang-utans and pygmy elephants.

"You've got all these that other countries anywhere in the world don't have. Sabah is very unique and very beautiful and it is my fervent hope with all the money and investments that's going to be put in here by the Government, Petronas, international companies and other people as well, for sure in the next 10 years Sabah would boom," he said.

"Thus, the people here should not be a by-stander and be part of that development, if anything, try to preserve the natural beauty of this place because that is the draw and attraction."

He said there is also a need to bring in a lot more talents from overseas and also from the peninsula to develop Sabah to be a world-class destination like Dubai and Singapore.

"Now, bringing natural assets and good human capital together, Sabah will surely boom and it will become the State in Malaysia and the destination in Southeast Asia," he said.

On another note, he said the KK Times Square project is a world-class development.

"We don't stinge, we don't try and save here and there, we use first class material, we have got a first class architect and we have got first class architectural design and everything is there.

"We hope this particular project will uplift the whole city of Kota Kinabalu to a new level and we hope with this development the people of Sabah will become more confident of where the State is going.

"This is the first world class development that's happening in the city and it's something we hope and pray would become the pride of Sabah and the pride of Kota Kinabalu," he said.

To a question, he said finishing touches hopefully will be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2014, adding that the whole complex construction is already 40 per cent and targeted to be completed by 2013.

Meanwhile, Asian Pac Holdings Berhad Managing Director, Dato Mustapha Buang, said they have five lofts, Loft A, B, C, D and E, comprising 631 units of serviced residences.

"To date, we have got a very encouraging 80 per cent take-up rate especially for B, which was launched a year back, which is 93 per cent," he said, adding that most of the buyers were locals.
Loft C is offering various types of designs from 1+1 bedrooms to 4+1 bedrooms, with the sizes from 704sf to 4,171sf.
