KOTA KINABALU: The recently concluded Property Investment and Home Expo (PIHex) Sandakan and Tawau 2012 recorded over RM40 million in sales, a total gathered from over 30 exhibitors comprising some of the most prominent real estate agencies and property developers from around Malaysia.
Originally held earlier this year at 1Borneo Hypermall, PIHex Sandakan and Tawau 2012 were conceptualised as a convenience for affluent investors and buyers living in those areas, offering them the practicality of exploring a full roster of projects and developments without the hassle of having to fly out of town.
In total, the two events managed to attract over 3,000 members of the public.
A key highlight of the two latest editions of PIHex were the property investment talks, an element of the original PIHex in Kota Kinabalu that has become one of the event’s most popular features. Five top calibre speakers from around Malaysia delivered a total of 16 sessions over the course of the events.
PIHex’s speakers were prolific author and cartographer Ho Chin Soon; internationally renowned speaker Gavin Tee; mortgage specialist Michael Yeoh; legal expert Chris Tan; and property negotiator Enoch Khoo.
The two events also featured the distribution of the PIHex Awards. A holdover from PIHex KK, the PIHex Awards are meant to honour the creative achievements of the participating developers, recognising their skill and effort in creating attractive exhibition spaces and promotional materials.

All property transactions made at the two events were also eligible to a special RM2,000 cash back reward, awarded at random to one lucky buyer, totalling RM4,000 split between two winners selected at each edition of the event.
The exhibition’s visitors were also treated to free copies of Property Hunter, the event’s official magazine, as well as to free copies of Buying and Selling Property in Sabah, a bilingual guide written by legal assistant Chin Man Yee.
PIHex’s online partner PropertyGuru was also onsite to promote their expansion in East Malaysia, as well as to explain their variety of free online services to visitors.
Property Investment and Home Expo (PIHex) Sandakan and Tawau 2012 were held from 13 to 14 October 2012 and from 20 to 21 October 2012, respectively.
