KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s excellent management of its finances proves
the ability of the state government to manage resources well, while
dismissing any negative notion or unsubstantiated accusations in respect
of efficiency.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, who is also
the Finance Minister, said the improved financial management of several
agencies had helped them to become self-sufficient with a few being able
to repay loans and channel dividends to the state government.
“This
is a good and positive indicator as savings in allocations and
dividends can help the state government to implement various development
programmes for the benefit of the people.
“In essence, there are many more programmes and development agenda which we need to implement.
“For
this, the government needs to strive to expand its sources of revenue
to ensure all planned development throughout the state, can continue to
be enhanced for the benefit of everyone,” he said at the Presentation of
Excellent Financial Management Awards Based on the Accountability Index
of the National Audit Department 2011 here today. – BERNAMA
