KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 (Bernama) -- Kuala Lumpur will host a three-day international conference, beginning Thursday, themed, 'Women: Creating New Economies' which will explore and share trends, strategies and best practices concerning gender diversity and global prosperity.
Held for the first time in Malaysia, the Prime Minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, would play host to delegates from 70 countries which will include, among others, first ladies, ministers, foreign speakers and moderators, said a statement.
Jointly organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, the summit held annually since 1990, has had an illustrious track record.
The conference has brought together inspiring speakers and delegates from diverse background in the past and this time around it will include Hilke Janssen, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd which is part of the Daimler Financial Services group.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, in a statement, said Janssen would speak about diversity initiatives at Daimler and her own experience in setting up Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia.
"We are happy to be participating in the summit and look forward to meeting the contingent of international delegates, as well as, joining the many sharing sessions that will take place", she added.
