KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 (Bernama) -- National carmaker, Proton, has launched its first 3S centre (sales, services and spare parts) in Brunei.
In a statement here today, Proton said it has also unveiled the Satria Neo R3 for the first time outside Malaysia to the neighbouring country market.
Proton said the centre Brunei's major business centre of Gadong, was able to showcase a maximum of nine cars and service up to 11 cars at a time.
"These mark Proton's commitment to Brunei as one of its key markets," it said.
The event was officiated by acting High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, Haznah Md Hisham.
Also present were Proton deputy chief executive officer, Datuk Lukman Ibrahim and Proton sole distributor in Brunei, United Motors Sdn Bhd, managing director Simon Gelan.
On the Satria Neo R3, Proton said, it was the first international launch since the car was launched in Malaysia in November last year.
Lukman said with Proton's continuous achievements in motorsports, the existing demand for Satria Neo was also being fuelled and has been further expanded.
"We believe there's a market here in Brunei for an affordable sports hatch back that is not being fulfilled at the moment," he said.
He said the sports hatchback, competitively-priced and proven in quality was targeted at the young and the young at heart, and motorsports enthusiasts.
Satria Neo R3 is an extension of Proton's most iconic model Satria Neo CPS that has now been enhanced with an improved overall styling for a fresher and clearly more distinctive sporty style.
The car is equipped with Proton's 1.6 litre Campro CPS engine.
