Teo to look into Sabah's Chinese community needs

A newly created Ministry of Special Task was recently added into the State Government Cabinet to address the needs and concerns of the Chinese Community. Heading the newly minted ministry is Datuk Teo Chee Kang.

After chairing the State's first cabinet meeting following the recently concluded 13th general election, Datuk Musa pointed out that the task that is expected to be carried out by Datuk Teo. This includes to see what is need to be done to  ensure continued support from the (Chinese) community for Barisan Nasional.

In spite of retaining two third majority, Sabah Barisan Nasional too chartered losses in Chinese majority areas, notably the Kota Kinabalu state and Sandakan parliamentary seats.

According to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, Datuk Teo Chee Kang is also tasked to oversee the state's  Economic Planning Unit (EPU). This role requires Datuk Teo to liaise with senior civil servants to chart Sabah's future development programmes, oversee their implementation and ensure satisfactory results. 

Datuk Musa was adamant to carried out the pledges that was made in it's election manifesto and reminded all appointed cabinet ministers  to get down to work to fulfill Barisan's promises to the people. In his own words, "My message to them is that the time for politics and polemics is over." 

The Chief Minister too mentioned that areas that was won by the Opposition will not be sidelined and affirmed that what has been planned in the past will not lost momentum and he renewed the State Government's commitment for the people's well- being.

The 14th sitting of the state assembly will be opened by  Yang diPertua Negri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin on June 17;  which would then sit from June 18 to 20.
