BONGAWAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has praised the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman which is evidently clear in his “report card”.
“I am impressed by his report card. The people of Sabah should read
it because it is a success for the State government and we support it
fully,” he said.
Najib was speaking at a meet-the-people gathering held at the Bongawan field here yesterday.
All the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates for the parliamentary areas of Kimanis and Papar were present too including Musa.
Najib who is also the BN central chairman said the Federal
government enjoyed a good relationship with the State government under
Musa’s leadership.
“We have approved plenty of allocations in the budget and given funding outside the budget and in fact even more,” he added.
The Prime Minister said there will be a sports facility built in Kimanis for the youth.
“I propose that we start off with an AstroTurf football court.
Anifah (Datuk Seri Anifah Aman) said that the area has no bank so we
will set up a branch of the Bank Simpanan Nasional here. There will be
plenty more to be done but let’s wait after May 5,” he said. Anifah is
contesting for the Kimanis parliamentary seat.
Najib said the 13th general election will be most crucial because it will determine the destiny of the Sabah and Malaysia.
“Whether we want Sabah to be peaceful and independent or whether we want the opposition to bring in uncertainty.
“Let us then together ensure that the decision we make on May 5
bring in a strong and stable government,” said the Prime Minister.
He added that Anifah as Foreign Minister had met foreign leaders who held Malaysia in high regard.
“Even the President of the United States Barack Obama holds Malaysia
in high regard because we are seen as a peaceful, stable and strong
country,” he said while adding that foreign investors are attracted to
Malaysia because of its strong and stable government.
“The more investments we get, the more prosperous the country
becomes and our stocks go up. When we collect more taxes, we give back
to the people of Malaysia.
“We give the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) to the people of Malaysia. Not just BR1M 1.0 and BR1M 2.0 but even BR1M 3.0 and BR1M 4.0 for the wellbeing of the people,” he said.
He added that it was evidence that the BN government is the best government for the people.
“The opposition wants to get rid of BR1M but BR1M
is better than reducing the price of fuel. With lower fuel prices, only
those with big cars benefit. Those selling fuel in the border will make
profit but with BR1M, everyone benefits,” he said.
Najib therefore urged everyone to vote for BN and to the people of Sabah, to make sure that the State remains with BN.
Of the opposition he said: “How can there be three captains in a
ship? They all have different philosophies, no track record and what
they say today is different from what they said before. They make empty
promises.”
