KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is one of the most active states bidding for facilitation funds under the Public-Private Partership (PPP) Programme, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said yesterday.
So far, RM459.2 million had been approved for six projects in the state, he said at the handing over of an Entry Point Project Facilitation Fund offer letter to Sipadan Mangrove Resort Sdn Bhd at Wisma Sedia in Penampang near here.
Besides the Sipadan Mangrove Resort in Semporna, the other projects are Tawau Green Energy, International Technology and Convention Centre (Penampang), Sabah International Convention Centre (Kota Kinabalu), Gleneagles Medical Centre (Kota Kinabalu) and Dalit Bay Integrated Tourism Resort (Tuaran).
Musa said PPP was one of the key initiatives to foster a win-win partnership for both the government and private sector.
He said the Sipadan Mangrove Resort would create a new gateway by offering a wide range of eco-tourism features, appealing not only to diving enthusiasts, but also the other market segments.
It would support the tourist market for the Sipadan Islands and provide tourism products for high-end consumers, drawing higher yield as aspired by the ETP for the tourism industry, Musa said. Bernama
